Shadows of Time

October - November 2020

Black Cat Gallery, Collingwood, Melbourne

The harsh light and shadows of the Australian landscape have always mesmerised me. As a child I would watch them, fascinated by their form and constant motion. Later, I realised they could be a metaphor for self and that place and self are closely intertwined. This collection of works consisted of both new and previously exhibited images that explored these shadows, as well as the constant threat of other forces on our lives and memories of place and self. These processes seemed especially pertinent to a time of COVID-19.
